To play Lotofácil, you have to select numbers from 1 to 25. You must pick at least 15, but you can choose as many as 20. If you don’t want to select your own, the Surpresinha option will give you a set of numbers at random.
You can enter the same numbers into 3, 6, 12, 18 or 24 consecutive draws in advance. It costs R$2.50 for a single set of 15 numbers. The table below shows how the cost of entry goes up as you select more numbers and cover more combinations.

You need to match all 15 numbers to win the Lotofácil top prize. If nobody matches all the numbers, the top prize accumulates for the next draw. There are also four other ways to win, starting from matching as few as 11 numbers.
The bottom three prize tiers have fixed amounts, which are paid out first. The remainder of the prize fund is distributed to the top two categories as shown in the table below.
Prize Tier | How to Win | Prize |
---|---|---|
Jackpot | Match 15 Numbers | 62% of Prize Fund |
Tier 2 | Match 14 Numbers | 13% of Prize Fund |
Tier 3 | Match 13 Numbers | R$25 |
Tier 4 | Match 12 Numbers | R$10 |
Tier 5 | Match 11 Numbers | R$5 |
Ten percent of the prize money from every draw also goes towards the Lotofácil draws which end in 0, so the top prize is always guaranteed to get a boost in every tenth draw. The remaining 15 percent of the prize fund from every draw is kept for the yearly Lotofácil da Independência draw.
Regardless of how much you win, you need to claim prizes within 90 days of the draw taking place.
The table below shows the probability of winning a Lotofácil prize, and how your odds improve as you select more numbers. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 9.

If you want to select more than 15 numbers without spending too much money, you could play in a Bolão. This is where you just purchase a share of a ticket, so it doesn’t cost as much, and if you win you split the prize with other members of the group.
Lotofácil da Independência
The biggest Lotofácil draw of the year takes place in September, usually on the 7th, to mark Brazil’s independence. Ticket sales usually go on sale around a month earlier, and the top prize can be worth more than R$150 million.
The draw schedule can be a bit different to normal before the annual Lotofácil da Independência. Instead of happening six days a week as usual, draws are paused a couple of weeks early so that more tickets can be sold for Lotofácil da Independência.
Fifteen percent of the prize fund from every regular draw throughout the year also goes to Lotofácil da Independência. The table below shows how the prize fund is distributed in the special draw, after the fixed prize amounts are paid out first.
Prize Tier | How to Win | Prize |
---|---|---|
Jackpot | Match 15 Numbers | 87% of Prize Fund |
Tier 2 | Match 14 Numbers | 13% of Prize Fund |
Tier 3 | Match 13 Numbers | R$25 |
Tier 4 | Match 12 Numbers | R$10 |
Tier 5 | Match 11 Numbers | R$5 |
If there are no tickets that match all 15 winning numbers, the jackpot is divided between players in the second tier. However, Lotofácil da Independência is so popular that there are usually multiple winners. In 2024, for example, there was a R$202 million jackpot and 86 winning bets, each worth $2.3 million.
